Android Netrunner, deckbuilding, and competitive play.

There have been many posts in the Android Netrunner Facebook group about changes to the tournament.  I hadn't read any of the new rulings posted to Fantasy Flight Games website until today.

And now I am sad.

(Lots of game and card discussion to follow.)

This is the deck I've spend the most time playing in tournaments and casual play for the last year.  It keeps me in the middle of the pack overall.

Rielle "Kit" Peddler: Transhuman (Creation and Control)

Event (17)
3x Diesel (Core Set)
3x Sure Gamble (Core Set)
3x Test Run (Cyber Exodus)
3x Scavenge (Creation and Control)
3x Dirty Laundry (Creation and Control)
2x Legwork (Honor and Profit) ••••

Hardware (12)
3x R&D Interface (Future Proof)
3x Clone Chip (Creation and Control)
3x Lockpick (Opening Moves)
3x Astrolabe (Up and Over)

Resource (3)
3x Kati Jones (Humanity's Shadow)

Icebreaker (
1x Femme Fatale (Core Set) •
1x Deus X (A Study in Static)
3x Cyber-Cypher (Creation and Control)
1x Torch (Mala Tempora)
1x Sharpshooter (True Colors)
1x Cerberus "Lady" H1 (All That Remains)

Program (6)
1x Parasite (Core Set) ••
1x Magnum Opus (Core Set)
1x Imp (What Lies Ahead) •••
3x Self-modifying Code (Creation and Control)

10 influence spent (maximum 10)
46 cards (min 45)
Cards up to All That Remains

I pair this with an NBN Grail ICE/Midway corporation deck.  I like these decks because they're very well played.  I am comfortable with what I am looking for in an initial hand, as well as keeping up with what cards I want for various situations.  Now I have to re-do the whole deck. Parasite, Clone Chip, and Cereberus "Lady" H1 have all had extra influence added to them, putting me at 15 influence.

Wait.  Hold on.  That last sentence is incorrect.  Rielle "Kit" Peddler starts with 10 influence.  I have five cards that are included on the "NAPD Most Wanted List".  Each card from that list reduces my Influence by 1.  So I actually only have 5.

Granted, I can keep playing this deck in casual play all I want.  But there is a side of me that wants to be playing with an eye to winning tournaments.  I'm really just frustrated with these changes.  I'm having trouble understanding why they needed to be made, likely because I am still not even at 50 games played of A:NR.

Is this deck salvagable? Possibly, or I might just find a new Kit deck and learn it all over again.
